The rings were carried in by their dog. One of them is steady, the other can't wait for anything; one takes their time, the other wants it done now. They never tried to turn each other into the same person — they simply both love travelling, eating well, and finishing a whole season on the same couch. The ceremony began at three in the afternoon: the dog walked over with the rings, sparklers were lit, and one game rolled into the next, laughter carrying from the dusk in Tianwei all the way to the end of the banquet. We barely had to stop them once. A day like this doesn't need directing — it only needs someone to photograph all of it.
